Bukovina is a province of Romania. Located on the north eastern border with the Ukraine.
Our family lived there from what appears to be the 1700s. Possibly migrating from the Rhineland in Germany.
The Henriss family were ethnic Germans retaining their language and Catholic religion. They lived amongst Romanians, Jews, Hungarians and other Eastern European groups.
Opa Walter, Oma Adolphina and all their children were born in the town of Watra Moldovita (vatra molda vitza) in the southern part of Bukovina.
